Inventor "Bible"

Is there a definitive book on Inventor? I am looking specifically for animation and how to create your own material files.

Thanks 🙂

Hi matt.johnson35,

I don't know of a truly definitive Autodesk Inventor book, as there are just too many topics to cover and publishers only allow a finite number of pages in each book.

As for the topics you mentioned, here are some online resources.

Don't forget to look for general references on animation, lighting, and color theory.  They specific settings may apply to other software but the general techniques, terminology, and ideas can be applied anywhere you want to create high quality images.

I used Curtis's book to study for my first inventor professional exam. I thought it was well written.

Hi LT.Rusty,

I think that book covers a great deal of the tools in Inventor, but the publisher holds me to 1000 pages. To be truly definitive I think it'd take another 1000 pages or so. But 2000 pages for a yearly edition would prohibitive in a number of ways.

I hope this helps.

The "Mastering Autodesk Inventor" books are broad-brush to say the least. An OK resource, but light on for detail - nothing on the Solidworks Bible books or even the AutoCad Bible books from yesteryear...

I use SolidWorks 2015 in some of my classes.  I can't find a SolidWorks Bible version book later than 2013?  What happened to Matt Lombard?
