Inventor "Labs" is a "open to public" beta testing site. There really to work out the bugs and get feed-back. It was released back in 2012. Can't say how it will work in newer versions or if all the bugs/issues have been worked out.

The supported apps page just lists 2013:

http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/inventor_simplification/supported_apps

I am not sure how it will work with other versions.

The "simplification" would work better, for my company, if the resultant part model resembled the model from which it was taken.

Otherwise, for what we would use it for, we can't identify what the model is

Simplify seems like it could be a great addition! but i'm encounter an error when trying to "combine compnents" i get an error dialog stating "the operation failed" and takes me back to the original assembly.

when trying to combine components with too many "open" features, i would get the same "errror", refine the selection process i.e. dumb it down

Is anyone else having issues with Simplify working in 2014 IV? It worked flawless for us in 2013 but in 2014 the "Simplfy" ribbon tab only displays at the assembly level. The add-in is set to Automatic/Loaded so I'm not sure why it's no longer working at the part level. Anyone else having this issue?

Kenny

I believe it was only designed for IV2013. Anything on the Autodesk Labs is really "Beta Testing" that is open for the public.

Yea I knew it wasn't supported with 2014 use so that's why I'm asking if anyone has the same issues with 2014 or if it doesn't work at all for everyone. Just trying to make sure it's not something with my machine. It works as far as the assembly environment goes but doesn't work at all in the part envirmonent, so it's pretty much useless in 2014 lol.

I'm really hoping they bring Simplify into IV full-time or at least promote it to the Exchange site after it expires. It is light years better than trying to do the equivalent using Shrinkwrap.

Kenny
