Inventor ONLINE help is now live on Autodesk Knowledge Network (AKN)

The transition is complete for the Inventor R2014 help!

Thank you for your patience as we transitioned  from the Autodesk Wiki online Help pages to the new Autodesk online Help environment, Autodesk Knowledge Network (AKN). You should enjoy improved performance and search options, along with a fresh new look here: http://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2014/ENU/.

You will be redirected automatically to AKN and the Inventor 2014 help  when you access Help from within:

  • Inventor 2014
  • Inventor 2013
  • Inventor 2012

The AKN help is available in English only at this time.

We are excited to bring , Autodesk Knowledge Network (AKN)to you and we look forward to your participation and comments.

Please let me know of any questions,

Thank you,

Jeanie Wayker

Just a couple quick comments:
I like the new layout. It reminds me of the offline version of help which I've always felt was far superior to the wiki.
I don't like that the embedded videos can't be re-sized, nor the side bar thingy minimized. It forces me to have my browser maximized which, when I'm using it in conjunction with Inventor (for example, tutorials), is annoying. I run dual monitors and I like to have my browser sharing the screen with Inventor's browser pane.
Is there any intent to launch a replacement help system for non-current versions(2013&2012)? It may be frustrating for users of older versions to see features in the help that they don't have access to.

Thank you for your comments and question. I do not have a definitive answer whether there will be a replacement help system for non-current versions(2013&2012)?

I am lookng into that and will let you know.

Thank you again,

Jeanie Wayker

I have to say, not having dived into the new help too deep yet, still being on 2012, having the back versions would be of great help.

I would have to agree on th eolder versions, but being on 2013... 2014 isn't that much of a stretch.  most questions I have with 2013 SHOULD be covered in 2014.

Thanks for the hard work, I know some of us were a bit impatient.

Thank you for your feedback and your question. Yes, Autodesk will be launching the 2013, 2012 versions of the help later this year and we will keep you updated on when they go live. Redirecting these non-current versions to 2014 content is a temporary solution to ensure that you have content to reference until that occurs. Your feedback on videos and browser pane has also been noted and is under consideration.

Looks great, now if we could just get some of the posters to look and read the help before they post (even do a search on their problem before they post).

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Until the new AKN versions go live, it might be helpful for users to go to these links to download the help files for their version and set them to be accessed locally on their computer or network:

To download the complete Inventor 2012 Help System to your computer or local network for installation, click here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=18715627

Be sure and set the registry switch as described here:

http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/installing_autodesk_inventor_full_help_2012.htm

To download the complete Inventor 2013 Help System to your computer or local network for installation, click here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=21310054

Be sure and set the registry switch as described here:

http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/help_install_instructions_inventor.html

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Curtis,

If you noticed I had this thread pinned to the top of this forum.

That will not only make it easier for users to get to this thread, but to the links you provided as well.

Thank you for placing them here.  Smiley Happy

It is the wee hours of Nov 9. I start a new job on Nov 11 for an employer using Inventor 2013. The wiki help was sensibly indexed a year and a half ago to learn how to perform operations. Is there any resource available for me to reveiw using inventor 2013 this weekend?

Welcome to the forum.

If you notice there is a posting from Curtis that gives a link to the 2013 help online.

I goes here http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=21310054

but follow his instructions.

Cadmanto:

Thanks, but that link is for help files to add to installed versions of Inventor. I am at home. My new employer has inventor 2013 at their place of business. I need to study this at home over the next two days.  The old Wikihelp allowed reading instructions and viewing films.

I am sorry that this link cannot help you.  What version did you last use?

Or do you have no Inventor experience at all?

If you have none at all, then I would go to youtube and start with simple videos on simple operations.

Also, I know you are going to be using 2013, but looking at the 2014 help isn't going to be that much different.

If you google search for whats new in 2013 and then for 2014 you will have a pretty good idea of what you are not going to see.

Great Solution 😞

In the past I save a lot of interesting pages as .MHT,

If I do this now I will get only empty pages.

Where is the Save as PDF functionality

The most of the links you will find with Google didn't work any longer

This is truly a helpfully

GOOD JOB, well done

Inventor 2013 was the last version I used, and the same version about to return to on Monday. ?I do not have any Inventor on my home computer, but was hoping to review commands this weekend.

Hi, You can download the Inventor R2013 help to your local computer from here:  http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=21310054

Althought the online help currently available is  for R2014, this should still be an excellent resource for you.

I am so excited for you.

I hope these are good resources for you. Please keep us posted on your progress.
