Inventor LT version?

We're looking for a LT (aka cheaper) version of Inventor for people here using less modeling, and possibly just viewing and slightly manipulating 3D models

As a whole, we're running Inventor 2008. Is there a LT version available?

(we really don't want to run into the back dating of files / versions like in autocad)

please advise

There is an Inventor LT, however you will not find any of Autodesk's products for sale more than one release back.

Regardless with Inventor unlike AutoCAD you aren't able to save backwards to previous versions.

Currently you can still purchase Inventor LT 2011 however you will not be able to add subscription, if you would like subscription, you would need to purchase 2012. SRP is the same for both version.

For viewing only, download the free Inventor Viewer from Autodesk.

Inventor LT does not support assemblies.

OP, LT is for part-level modeling. LT Suite comes with AutoCAD LT. Check here or with your reseller for special pricing offers that occur from time to time 🙂

If by some odd chance my nattering was useful -- that's great, glad to help. But if it actually solved your issue, then please mark my solution as accepted 🙂
