Using Inventor 2014 (various updates tried) to make iParts gives me different errors when leaving the iPart tablee editor. It appears that Inventor cannot get excel to take ower the task of making the table.
Various versions of excel (from various office versions has been tried).
The error description from the system varies depending on the Excel version used.
I have fiddeled with registry entries as suggested in somethreads, but with no luck.
Any sugestions? My next step might be a complete new reinstall, but I have doubts that it might work.

Win 8.1 64 Bit
Inventor 2014 with current updates (II)
Excel both 32 and 64 Bit
I think the problem is Windows 8.1
You can try first of all install the UPDATE 3 for Inventor.
I just updated my Inventor to update III for servicepack I.
Still does not work, but the error has changed.
Now Inventor starts Excel and Excel reports the error "Excel met an error and Excel needs to be restarted.
Inventor reports that "Excel needs to be installed...." witch it is...
Grrrrr!!
I tried to take my part to another computer. Worked fine, so I do not think the error is du to the part. (I have also made new parts andd the resuli is the same. Im beginning to think that WIN 8.1 64bit is central to this error.

Is your excel activated or are you running a trial version?
Isn't office 365 a "cloud based" software?
Not sure if that works with Inventor.. And you have the "home" version too..
Also not sure how its going to work with your "illegal" software either.. The "cracking" process might not register stuff properly.
And then Windows 8.1 throws even more possible issues.
Also maybe this will help
Personally I'd open a support case with Autodesk..
personally I would install in this order..
1-make sure you are logged in with full admin rights
2-turn off antivirus..
3-uninstall Inventor 2014..
4-install excel 2003
5-open excel 2003
6-install Inventor 2014
Hi Again
II have tried to fully install Inventor, as well as Excel.
Still same error. with different versions of excel(all legal) and latest Inventor.
I tried to see if it worked on my sons computer, but the same happened on his computer. (it needed a reformatting anyway so i gave it a shot)
Can anyone guide me in how to make a support case with Autodesk? I could not really see how to get away from the support loop that directed me to this forum.
I cannot really fgure out what causes the problem, or if the problem is caused by Win 8, Excel or by Inventor.
Regards
Peter
