In inventor 2012 we could place a component into a new assembly and the component was then automatically grounded at origin.
This also worked with copy/paste from one assy to a new one. The first component pasted was automatically grounded at orgin.
In Inventor 2014 we have the option to choose "Place and ground first part at origin" (In application options):
This feature is only working "half way".
When placing a new component with the command "Place", it works.
When placing the first component (part) by pasting from another assy, it is grounded at the current cursor position (offset from origin).
This is not so good IMO.
Can it be changed or corrected?
Bump.
This behavior happens with my system as well. It does tend to get annoying.
Does the user have the option to Right Click - Place Grounded at Origin?
This can be repaired:
-Right-Click on grounded part -> iProperties
- In Occurrence sheet set all offsets to zero

Make sure the origin of the part you're dropping in is in the location you want. It will match up the planes of the part to the planes of the assembly.
Hi,
I have found one of the causes
