I mentioned this issue long time ago (Inventor 2011) and somebody from Autodesk developing team responded, promising an fix in next version. Unfortunately nothing happen and the problem still exists: ability to hem all edges of - say - square piece of sheet metal with single command. This will result with properly notched mitered corners of flat piece. Solid Works does it, and I believe it's not a brainer do implement such logic approach in Inventor...

You can use Contour Flange to do this. It's not perfect and probably not as easy as a proper HEM command would be but it's still do-able. Below are some links to blog articles I wrote on this. They might help. Good luck.

You can also place this in the Inventor IdeaStation.

Of course the Contour Flange method will do the trick some 50 mouse clicks later, but that's not the point of my post...
Only takes me a handfull of clicks - you must be doing something wrong. Attach your file here.

You must have mis-understood my technique.
I am familiar with the SolidWorks technique, I am using the Inventor technique that works, not trying to force Inventor to work like SolidWorks.
Perhaps this is where you need to post your problem description

I understand your frustration.
Every day I run into the same thing - trying to get SolidWorks to do things that are so easy in Inventor....
The CADWhisperer YouTube Channel
Yes Solidworks does some things better/easier than Inventor and Inventor does some things better/easier than Solidworks..
If you really like the way Solidworks or any other CAD package does something vs Inventor then the "ideastation" as posted above is where you should put that suggestion.
IF there is enough demand it might actually get implemented.. But don't hold your breathe.... Heck I do sheet metal parts all the time and have NEVER used the hem command once since Inventor R8..
