I am getting the folllowing error message while trying to open my assemblies. When I go to the add-in Manager I don't see any add-in for cabel and harness. I just recently installed Inventor Professional 2012.

Windows Vista??????
If yes look at this http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=16323149&linkID=9242018
Please try to Repair your Inventor Professional 2012 via Control Panel, select Inventor Professional 2012 and click Uninstall, click Repaire or Reinstall, then hit Repair.

Hi,
I tried reparing it and even uninstalled and re-installed. I still don't see the Cable & harness add-in. And I noticed that Stress Analysis and Dynamic simulation Add-In is missing too.
are you sure you are running inventor pro 2012 and not just inventor 2012?

this would explain why you are missing the add ins if your running just inventor 2012 and not inventor pro 2012

Hi varindersra,
I'm not sure if this fits your situation, but you might have a look here:

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Hi,
I checked the location C:\Program files\Autodesk\Inventor 2012\bin as indicated in that link. The folder doesn't have any of the .exe files mentioned. This would have worked for 2011 but its not working for 2012.
Hi varindersra,
You are correct, we no longer use the registry for the Inventor addins begining in R2012. We use manifest files now.
Can you check your %programdata%\Autodesk\Inventor 2012\Addins directory in Windows Explorer? Do these files exist on your installation?
Thanks, -Hugh
Hi,
Yes all these files exists. What do I do with them
Regards !
Varinder
Hi Variner,
You're not supposed to do anything for them. If the license is AIP, Inventor should be able to look up the location.
Just to be sure you're using the AIP license, could you go to help => about => Product Information button and see that the Licence type is "Professional" as shown below?
Thanks, -Hugh
