Inventor 2012 Pro - flat pattern for a solid

Is there a way, in an .idw (drawing file) to create a flat view (unrolled) of a cylindrical solid? NOT to be confused with sheet metal. This is from a solid .ipt. Either that or create a flat pattern of a solid cylinder that IS NOT SHEET METAL?

ok well not too sure if this still falls within your allowable methodology, but maybe if you want to, you could derive the cylinder into a new sheet metal part, ipt (choose import as a surface). Then just thicken the outer skin, rip it and flatten it.

when you save the file, just call it the same file name as the main part but add a postfix to the name to indicate that it is related information.

best regards,

Sheet metal is just a term for a catagory of specialized tools.

Attach your file here.
