Inventor 2011 Rendering

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I have Inventor 2011 Professional and when I take a simple block that I created as a part and the place it in a assembly - save the assembly and the go to Inventor Studio - I try to render an animation that I created or just a simple JPEG. My inventor closes down completely after just a few seconds of rendering.

The settings of my rendered animation is as follow
General
Width x Height = 800 x 600
Camera = Camera 1
Lightning style = Current Lightning
Scene Style = XY Ground Plane
Render Type = Shaded

Output
It saves it to my Current Project file
Time range = 0 - 30 s
Antialiasing = Low Antialiasing
Format = Video
Frame Rate = 10
Preview and Launch player is unticked

I've tried to use the lowest setting of everything but then the quality is very poor and unacceptable!

If I try it on the above settings "which is not that hi" it closes my Inventor a few seconds into the rendering.

After it is closed it is still running in my Task Manager under processes at 800,000k - 900,000k

Then I have to kill it there!!

Please help as I am stuck and need this to work.

My PC Spec is as follow

Windows XP SP3
Intel Core 2 Extreme
CPU Q6850 @ 3.00GHz
2.99 GHz, 3.00 GB of RAM

Graphics - NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700 512 MB Version 60.84.63.00.17

you're possibly running out of memory - xp32 with 3gb ram is probably
struggling with 2011 Pro, let alone trying to render an animation (and
no-doubt trying to get a codec to compress the avi). How complex is the
assembly? unless it's pretty small with simple components then I imagine
this is your downfall.

try the 3gb switch and see if it gets any further, but realistically with
2011 pro you should be looking at 64bit, twice your ram and probably win7.

Guess you could post the assembly and parts to see if there's any problems
with them (just make sure they're all fully constrained to prevent instant
complaints...)

I can't even do it with one part like a block!

My assembly consist of 53 parts. But like I said it doesn't even want to do it with 1 block.

I spoke to the supplier and distutors in SA and they said my PC is more than effecient to run Inventor?

What you say makes more sense to me but I doubt that my company will purchase something like what is suggested without proper proof to them.

Arrrggggghhhhh?!?!?

Thanks again

I'm having the same issue on a Win 64 8GB system trying to render a
simple scene. Also 2011. The scene renders OK at the default 72 dpi, but
dies at 300dpi. I'm suspecting graphics card or driver.

The scene renders about 50% before "Poof"!. Task manager shows that
Inventor is still running, using 400MB, but inaccessible. There's no
recourse but to kill the process.

I'm running an NVidia GeForce 9800GT/512 with an older driver that has
been perfect up until this point. I'll be testing out new drivers to see
if this is the issue.

What is your graphic card and driver specifications?

I have the same issue!

My Inventor 2011 on a Win 7/64bit system closes down without warning when I try to render som assemblies.
I tried on another 32 bit XP, same issue... I have plenty of memory and new drivers.

I had to turn down our sales department today, telling I coudn't deliver renderings of our new product due to this issue.

Autodesk... You have to look into this issue! The sooner the better!

Best regards,
Christian

I guess if you put the change the decimal location
it would then become 197.59  and not"
face="Times New Roman">Driver Version: 6.14.11.9759" or is it really version
9759

I fixed my Studio rendering problem by updating my NVidia driver to the
latest version...

Version 197.45 on GeForce 9800GT/512MB did the job

Hi, having similar problems here.

Windows XP, Nvidia Quadro FX4500 (Bios 5.70.02.41.03), latest driver
6.14.11.9759.

Have sent numerous error reports to support, and data set (as requested by
support last week), have not yet had reply 10.5.10.

Agree with Christian above:-

Autodesk... You have to look into this issue! The sooner the better!

I am prevented from presenting our sales department with quality renderings.

Look at the Driver tab of your video card's
Properties page.  Save for your card being an FX3800 and not an FX3500
as I have, your Properties page will be identical.  "Driver version:
6.14.11.9759"

Don't bother.  You've already got the latest
version, dated 4.16.2010.

Here's the latest driver for Win7 and the FX1700. While the version you
have is a similar number, it's not the same driver

You stated that you have version "Driver Version: 6.14.11.9759" The
proper number is 197.59, a totally different series of drivers.

And what are your machine specs? Every system is different, depending on
graphics card version and operating system.

First, I am no expert at this, but it is my impression that this type of rendering is not performed by the graphic card, but rather the processor it self.

No.  They're the same.
