Inventor 2011 Help Files and Tutorials

Installed the Inventor Professional Suite 2011 on a Vista 64bit business class laptop.

The help files or tutorials do not work.  Please help, as I need them to learn the software.

Without more detail about what is not working, I do not have a recommended fix. I can point you to the WikiHelp for reference. The Help and Tutorials for 2011 are available online in the WikiHelp.

You might also want to verify you system specs with the 2011 requirements.

If you can, provide a screen shot or description of the error you seeing and I might be able to help further.

If I select help from the menu, nothings comes up.

If I press F1 for anything, nothing happens.

If I click on anything in the "Learn about Inventor" ribbon, nothing happens...

I checked to see if the help file are installed, which they are in their folder and

I can select and view them, from explorer.  This does not help me when trying to view them within Inventor...

Thanks

Errors with help files are typically due to the security level in Internet Explorer. Try changing the Security settings from the Custom Level option and set it to low or otherwise allow Active X and Scripting options. If you can duplicate the errors by opening the .CHM files directly from your installation (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2011\Help), then we will know that the issue is directly linked to your Internet Explorer.

I would also suggest that you empty both your system temp folder as well as Internet temp folder and look for any available Critical Microsoft updates and install them.

Help files run java scripts to enable functionality within the HTML window. If you have a spyware application, it could also block the help from working properly.

Please mark this as resolved if it resolves the issue. Thank you.

Upgraded to IE 9 before installation of inventor.

Changed the security settings as directed.

Cleared the systems and temp folders using Disk Cleanup.

Installed all available windows updates.

I have no spyware installed that I know of.

The help files are in the corect folder.

Within Inventor, I cannot access any help file, tutorial or getting started file.

I do not get any error, pressing F1 does nothing...
