Inv9sp2 : Face as Split Tool

I don't use Surfaces very often but find them handy at times.

Is there any likelihood of being able to use a face of a solid/feature as a Splitting Tool. Does the Splitting Tool need to
intersect the surface to be split or can it be an 'apparent intersections' ? If not, can the latter and former be included on a
surfaces wish list ?

Or can somebody who really knows about surfaces tell me I'm talking out the back of my head 🙂

Offset the face 0 (zero) to make it a surface and split away with it...

Peer,

That's what I ended up doing.

Just thought it would be easier and quicker to use faces that already existed.

Duncan,

You can always use a Surface or a Solid as the split tool. You can first
pick the faces you want to split (part faces or surface faces) and then pick
a solid or a surface as split tool. There is a UI glitch in Split dialogbox
though. Somehow Split Tool is the first pick when you launch the command and
you are not allowed to pick solid as split tool.
