Include All Surfaces

From the help file: After you create a drawing view, surfaces can be included or excluded from drawing views. Files that contain only surfaces automatically include the surfaces in a drawing view. Is there a way to disable this functionality? Regards,

Ludesroc,

We are assuming that you are using Inventor 2014.

If you create a ViewRep in your part or assembly with the visibility to that surface turn off, you can then select that ViewRep for the view in your IDW.

Does this answer your question?

Thank you.

Bob, I understand the concept behind ViewRep and drawing creation. We automate all this using the API. This (Include All Surfaces) feature is causing a lot of trouble. We just migrated from 2012 to 2014 and now have to manage this feature in every drawing view we generate. I have found this Sub, SetSurfaceVisibilityOff() from this post. It works pretty good but it is time consuming when it is a very large assembly. http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Inventor-General/Include-all-surface/m-p/3551236/highlight/true#M44250... Simple question: Is there a way to disable this functionality? Regards,
Ludesroc
