I am having problem convertin this SLDPRT file to inventor.
I am currently using 2012. I tried importing the file but nothing shows up when I import it. All I get is this translation report with error.
Could someone help me translate this SLDPRT file to .ipt file, please?
Thank you for the help in advance.

This happens most often when the SWx files are of a newer version than your version of Inventor can translate. Inventor typically translates one version behind the SWx version due to the timing of release dates. You might need to ask for the files in STEP format if it is determined that your version of Inventor will not open this version of the SWx file.
If I'm not mistaken Inventor 2012 service pack 1 can import SWx 2011 files. But without SP1 Inventor 2012 will only open SWx 2010 files.

I hope this helps.

What version is the SW file?
I have SW 2011 at home, but not here at work. (if this helps you). If you need 2012 SW I have means to get that as well.
If you want post the file here and when I get home I can try and call it up and convert it for you.
thank you for the information, Curtis
so even with service pack 2 installed on my 2012 inventor, I probably would not be able to convert the 2012 SLDPRT file to .ipt file?
thank you for your help, I have attached the SLDPRT file which is from 2012 Solidworks.
if you could save the file as 2010 or earlier versions of Solidworks, I would very much appreciate it.
If I got it in the form of a step file or igs would that be ok?
I just tried opening the file here at work and noticed that the original version of SW was 2003.
So what I will do is when I get home I will open it up in SW 2011 and save it in that version. Then try opening it
up in Inventor 2012. If I can save it in Inventor 2012 will work for you as well?
If not I will save it out of SW 2011 as a step file.
See if these files work for you.
One is a parasolid and the other is a iges file.
Hope they work for you.
