Importing Pro Engineer files in Inventor 2013

Hi,

I have issues when importing Pro Engineer files in Inventor 2013. Importing the same models in Inventor 2012 works fine.

Anyone else having the same problems?

I think it's a bug in 2013...

Regards,

Nico Blok

Describe the problems you're having.  Then we might be able to say if we're having the same ones.

I am trying to import a Pro/Creo 2 .asm file however Inventor gives me the following error: "Unable to convert Pro/ENGINEER file to Inventor file."

Can someone tell me what versions of Pro/Creo file formats are supported for Inventor 2012 & 2013?

Thank you.

When did Creo 2 come out?  After Inventor 2012?

Hi conbuc,

Thanks for your report!

Inventor 2013 only support Creo1.0 as the latest file format and Creo2.0 file format is not supported so far. That's why you will see the error message, we also notice Creo2.0 is out and we are working on the enhancement for it.

Hi nico,

Thanks for your report!

If the same file works fine in Inventor2012 but fails in Inventor2013, it is a regression then. But before I confirm it can you share the model to me for double confirm ? You can send the model to Hongyuan.Li@autodesk.com .

Appreciate your support !

Hello Kevin Li,

That's what I figured, however I wasn't sure if 2013 came out before or after Creo 2 and I don't have it installed to test it. I already think I know the answer but i'll ask anyway, do you have an ETA on when you will have support for Creo 2 file format?

Thank you all for the help.

Hi conbuc,

Currently it is on the road of researching and developing, and I do not have an ETA now.

I will notify the message in this forum when it is supported in future or email you.
