I am working on trying to import some 2d autocad drawings for work and converting them into 3d parts. I found this video online that seems like a very good way of doing it (using inventor 2010 I think)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzGrcFhXmmU
When he gets to the point where he has the inventor projected views into the inventor part file (roughly 2 minute mark) he has an option that he selects which creates a cube to place the views on. He selects it off the ribbon under the 2d to 3d ribbon subgroup. Using inventor 2013, I can't seem to add the 2d to 3d option to my ribbon. Is there a better way to import old ACAD parts into 3d inventor parts in 2013? Is there an add-on or a package I need to import 2d ACAD into 3d inventor parts? Any help that anyone has or any tips for importing ACAD parts into 3d inventor parts would be appreciated.
Here you go: http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/2d_to_3d_tool/
It only supports 64bit Inventor 2013
