Import Part Flat Pattern

I understand that IV can create a flat pattern only
if the driving faces are planar and tangent rounds and
it is of uniform thickness.

Testing for these conditions seems to be quite tedious.
Fillet all rounds and fillets can show G0 seam edges.
Work feature tools can be used to test for planes and true rounds.
I have found no good method of testing for uniform true offsets and
thickness.

Are there better analysis tools in IV11 or 12 that I am missing?

-TIA

False.
IV will place an axis on an elliptical extrusion as well as a cylindrical
extrusion or revolution. It won't unfold the ellipse.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the IV rule of thumb for imports
is: if at first you don't succeed, quit suckin and model it as a native part.
