Hi there,
There are two ways to do this - both available at the following link:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=3131884&linkID=4183232
1) Autodesk Inventor View - Navtive viewing of Inventor parts, assemblies
and drawings. Looks like Inventor. No vizibility flags or settings.
2) DWF Viewer - Published viewing of Inventor parts, assemblies or drawings.
Ability to turn parts transparent or invisible. Nice lightweght format for
sharing with people.
I personally would suggest the DWF format - it has the same level of
fidelity as the native files (actually a little more functionality) and you
can always be assured that it is a proper snapshot of data.
The issue with viewing native Inventor data typically revolves around
references - it is very hard to "guarantee" that an assembly or even a
drawing is exactly what you expect, since refereced files can be in a work
in process state, and you wouldn't really know it.
Publishing the file to DWF will give you a nice static snapshot of the
design, that won't change.
