IV6 - INVENTOR.EXE WON'T REGISTER on my CPU!!!

Can anyone help ??

I cannot use Inventor Vr 6 on my Computer because the Software ( upon install or trying to run ) comes up with this message every time!
----------------------------------
Autodesk Inventor (tm)
Inventor.exe is not currently registered and did not correctly re-register on start up. This is probably because you do not have enough access rights (e.g. you are a Restricted User). Ask an Administrator or Standard User to re-run the program for you.
------------------------------------------
This message keeps coming up on my system, even when I try to Install VoloView or Voloview express. They never register with my Computer either.
------------------------------------------
The funny thing is, I’m logged on as the Administrator! With no Passwords and having all permissions!
----------------------------------------------
I have installed and uninstalled, then reinstalled and I still come up with the same problem! I have turned of any anti virus software before the install. Still come up with the same results ??
--------------------------------
Here is my computers Stats.

I have searched my Registry file for anything that says AUTODESK and deleted it. Then I searched for VOLOVIEW and deleted this. I reinstalled INVENTOR 6 and I still come up with that Message.

And I get the Same Results with VoloView or VoloView Express!

It won’t register! And therefore I cannot get the software started.

Therefore, until someone can help me, I cannot Teach or Learn INVENTOR 6. I would really like to use the software.

If we can’t get the software to SELF-Register, Can you help me Manually Register the Software?

Can you try rebooting in Safe Mode and installing
Inventor 6 from there?

As I replied in a thread named almost the same
thing as this one...I've had this problem. I was able to fix it by checking the
Task Manager. There was another instance of Inventor running in the background
somewhere. I stopped the task, then tried IV again. IT started right
up.

Glenn,

This still sounds like a permissions issue, like
you do not have sufficient rights to teh registry to install the
software.

This is likely the case if this is a new computer
from a major OEM that has Windows XP Home or Pro on it.

Search for this document in the AutoDesk Knowledge
base, it talks about LT but will apply to Inventor.

Hope this helps,

Robert

DAVE,

Thank you very much, but I have already tried this. I still get the Same problem.
I think that AUTODESK is having a problem with some other software that is loaded on my cpu.

Suspects are
WIN FAX PRO or the OCR Software.

But I cant figure out why it is that only the AUTODESK software has a problem with my SYSTEM??? Any software Ive loaded for the past 2 yrs, NO PROBLEM. But Autodesk ??

Thanks Robert,

I went and printed and tried to do what the instruction told me to. Still I have the Same Problem.

Why is it that I have had no problems with any other software but when it comes to Autodesk products, Slam! My CPU doesnt want to do anything with it.

I have Solidworks, No Problem I have other CAD systems, NO PROBLEM, WHY AUTODESK????

Hello all,

I have created a new user and had that new user be part of the administrators group.
I logged on as this new user. I installed IV6, I still end up with the same Problem.

It thinks I dont have the proper permissions to register the INVENTOR.EXE file.

Look like your pc's up to snuff, but don't have any idea what the problem
might be. With the holiday upon us, I would imagine an AutoDesk response
might me a little lacking, until maybe Friday. Seems like I remember a
similar (maybe the same) problem that was resolved recently. Search the
newsgroup using Google and see if you can find any hits. Good Luck.

I recently had an error while installing a video card driver, stating that I didn't have Administrator rights. The problem turned out to be that the network card had come unseated during shipping. Everything else installed fine, except the video driver. Perhaps the same idea? HTH

Glenn,

Are you installing IV and running IV as the same
user?  If not, give that a try.
