HELP!
We are having difficulties with **slow** Inventor 2010. We are upgrading to IV 2013 soon with brand new very high spec PC's.
However, all the IV files (70 Gig of files) are stored on a network server which is not too fast...
The office layout is:
6 x draughtsmen working on large assemblies with some parts shared.
We tried using Vault, but that did not really work well.
How/where should the files be stored. We considdered copuing the files to the local PC, but that can become a nightmare to control!
We don't want to install these fast PC's and find that the actual speed at which we can work does not really improve.
Any advice?
Thank you.

Server speed is probably not too much of an issue. However, network speed might be. How fast is your network?
You should also exclude Inventor files (.ipt, .iam, .idw, .lck) from real-time antivirus scanning, both on the server and on workstations.
Thank you for the advice. I will check with our IT support what the network speed is and also ask for them to disable the anti-virus scanning of the files.
Any other ideas?
