IV 4 file prob.

The strangest thing is occuring now with my inventor files!

Every time I click on an inventor file through Windows Explorer I get an
error message saying that explorer had an error and must be shut down. This
only happens when I click on inventor files (parts, assemblies, etc).

Any idea what could be causing this, and how to solve it?

Thanks in a advance.

Nelson

Nelson,
I always had this problem with versions 4, 5, and 5.3 before the SP's. It
looks like you were once able to just click on the file and it would open
up. I think I could only do that when that file was part of the ACTIVE
PROJECT.
Try making that project active, then clicking on the inventor file.
If that doesn't work, then I'm sorry I couldn't help.
I do know that 5.3 SP2 (what I'm currently using) works fine "clicking" on
the file, regardless of the active project.
Best regards, Tim

Could this have to do with having windows explorer set to
single click launch? Rather than double click.
just a thought,

Thanks for the replies, sorry for only getting back now.

The windows is set for double clicking and the files I am clicking are in
the active project (reply to tim's input).
I've tried everything, but nothing seems to be working!
