So we just changed out to 2013 last week, from 2012 and most everything seems to be fine so far BUT we are having what seems to be an glitch.
Some of our parts and assemblies now have features or parts where said items are all "grey" in the browser bar. Even when you look at the constraints in the browser bar they are "gray". Now I'm not talking about the letters, or items that are suppressed but the its like there is a grey box around everything.
Now it does not seems to be causeing any problems, and we still seem to be able to work on the assemblies and parts. If you add the same part that is in grey to the assembly again it is fine, so I'm just not sure if this means something is wrong or not.
Anyone else seeing this?
Anyway you can post a screen capture or even better, files?
I don't know if I'm seeing the same issue as rzazuliak, but it matches his description. I'm also not at all sure that this isn't some normal Inventor signaling mechanism that I just don't know the meaning of. Here's what I'm seeing:
Part is attached. There's a derivation parent and an Excel file of params, but it looks like you can just skip them.
Based on the details you provided, one issue has been logged in our system as 1471796 to track it.
I have found a quick solution.
I have had the same problem, and by going in the dynamic simulation and back out,
your parts will not be grayed out anymore.
atleast it worked with me.
sorry for my bad english, not my native language.
I now have 2 issues (one a part, one an assembly) that exhibit this behavior. I know WHY they are doing this but I need to know HOW they get into this situation. Somehow an API call has been made (by a VBA user or via an Add In) that puts a background browser adjustor on each browser entry.
Can anyone help me figure out HOW this happens? Which workflow causes it?
The last poster said going into and out of DS fixed it for them but the assembly I have is a weldment which cannot go into DS at all and it appears to be missing some files that are FEA files. Going into and out of Stress Analysis does not fix it. Furthermore the other case I have is an IPT which does not enter DS either...
Any help in finding a workflow would be greatly appreciated. Having these already messed up files isn't helping me now...
