IProperties Question?

Kind of confusing. Please bare with.
I first created 301006.ipt.
I then created 301006.idw.
Then I derived 301006SS.ipt from 301006.ipt, everything
being the same other then part#, rev., and mat'l.
I then opened up 301006.idw and did a save copy
as 301006SS.idw since the two drawing are the
same other then part#, rev., and mat'l.
Since I did this 301006SS.idw references 301006.ipt which
is fine because the geometry of the two parts is the same.
Is there a way that I can use just the IProperties from
301006SS.ipt and put them into my 301006SS.idw that is
referencing 301006.ipt?
Or do I have to create a new 301006SS.idw using 301006SS.ipt
and have to redimension the drawing in order to use the
IProperties from 301006SS.ipt.

I told you this was confusing Sorry
thank

Dave,

To copy properties from the derived ipt to the new
idw use the Design Assistant. Open the idw and from the tools pull down, select
Copy Design Properties. To be clear here, this does not establish a direct ipt
to idw realtionship. It simply populates the iProperty fields from one part to
another. I have an avi of this I will post to iCF.

Derived Part is no the way

Use Design Assistant to Copy both IDW & IPT to
a new File name

This way you'll have a new IDW pointing to the new
IPT

If you want the files linked such as they are with the derive I think you will have to
recreate the IDW. You could try hiding 301006.ipt, then open 301006SS.idw and when it
can't find the original part point it to the derived file. I will be surprised if it
works, but might be worth a shot.

If you don't care about the ipt files being linked together, then do as Yoni says.
