IPT to IDW error

Hello!

I'm starting to learn Inventor 2015 and i made this draw by Sketch mode and i would like to import this project as a Base to a .IDW file to make a technical draw of this prokect, but when a try to do this appears a message: "Cannot create drawing views for a empty model documents", what a have to do?

i tried this solution http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Inventor-General/Export-Sketch-From-IPT-to-IDW/m-p/4344917#M477841 but the command  "get model sketches" do not appears.

Have i to transform to a solid? How can i do this?

I saved this same file to a .STL format and "pinted" at a 3D printer and works.

Could please anybody help a noob?

Thanks in advanced.

Best wishes

Welcome to the forum.

I cannot open your model because I do not have 2015, but it almost sounds as though you do not have any geometry.

You should have geometry in your model in order to bring in drawing views.

Can you post images of what you have so I can see it?

Its an imported "mesh"..

search for the "mesh enabler" on the apps site to allow it to easily convert them to base solids or surfaces

See this article.

http://labs.blogs.com/its_alive_in_the_lab/2014/01/mesh-enabler-for-inventor-graduates-from-autodesk...

The Mesh Enabler mentioned here works for 2015 also.

If you made this before saving as stl, you should also have the solid model?

Students can get the Mesh Enabler by contacting Scott Sheppard (search here).
