INVENTOR vs BOARD DRAFTING

I love this program every day I do something that causes Inventor to crash I
love this built in self-checking function, makes you create it twice to make
sure that is what you want!!! reminds me of my old blue line days on the
board. I wonder if SE or SW has this high tech built in error check.

Now tell me your using AutoDesk's recommended Nvidia driver
40.72?......................no don't answer that........there are still some
issues reported here using the recommended drivers.
If you list your system specs along with SP's on ALL software help will be
in abundance.............

Gary,  I know you don't want to hear it, but
if you're crashing frequently, it's got to be either a conflict with drivers or
a hardware issue.

Many of us are running days on end if not weeks on
end without a single crash - and yes, we exercise it to the full extent
possible.

Keep plugging along trying this and that.
Autodesk has provided a DOC file to use to troubleshoot hardware/software
conflicts - find that in Customer Files or else I think Kent has it on his web
site.

I'm running 2 different machines without problems -
Dell M50 and a dual Athlon with 750 XGL.

Sounds like a good candidate for a disk formatting. There have been
several posts recently about the advantages of "cleaning" all the ****
out and starting over.

Another simple test is to create a new local user on the machine as a member of administrator group and see what happens. I've had
incidences where NT roaming profiles on Win2k workstations caused problems, my old machine was awful when logged in as me on the
network, but logged into local was fine. Same at a very large customers site.

There can be other profile corruptions that are caused over time that can cause a problems and eliminating them with a new local
administrator will show this up.

Do you have SP4 for Windows 2000? If you do you need to remove it. Also did
you tweak the registry to run with the Quadro 4? You will need to do this if
you want it to be compatible with Inventor.
