Hi,

Needs more information :).

What's your Inventor version ? Can you post an example step file here that cannot be opened or give the online weblink of the supplier?

Regards,

Kevin Li

I am using I.E. am having problems with all step files,Emerson Power Transmissions(EPT)is the one I use a lot to get bearing and stuff. When I try to save it in a project,it turns to a sat.file.I can import that to autocad.I did not have this problem untill I installed on windows 7.Thanks.

This statement doesn't make sense.  When you try to save it with what program.

Do you really mean that it download as sat file?

Post example of file that is giving you trouble.
Is you question about working in Inventor or is it about working in AutoCAD?

Did you install on Win7 with anti-virus and UAC turned off?

Inventor can open SAT files as well as STEP files.  Make sure the Add-In is loaded and started from the Tools Panel.

Can you save one of your own ipt files as STEP and ACIS (*.sat) and reopen that in Inventor?
