I am trying to figure out how to remove a portion from this part. I need the beige colored "lump" removed and it needs to be smooth with the other suffaces.
I can copy the surfaces and then do a patch, but the new surface does not look right. It has a buldge in it.
Also tried "Delete face" which I use all the time, but it does not work here.
Thanks

Check this part.
Yes, Exactly like that. Can you post the ipt so I can see how you did that?
Thanks

I didn't stay in the modeling environment - so there is no full history.
I discarded my attempt.
I didn't go to Fusion.
I went back and forth between Construction Environment and Modeling Environment.
Autodesk seems to have Construction, Repair and Inventor conFusion mixed up right now - so I haven't fooled around with this much for the past couple of years, waiting for them to settle out to one environment for editing base solids.
Hi Karthur1,
I might be bumping an old post but this might help.
Sometimes surfacing need to be trimmed back to make the topology of the surface easier to match. Loft 1 edge to 1 edge, 2 edges to 2 edges, or as in this case 6 edges to 6 edges etc…). If you keep this in mind most of the time you can get a very quick easy result.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Very nice solution.
Kind of embarrassed now how much unnecessary effort I expended.
This technique (see attached) simplifies to the selection of 5 planar faces.
