Good morning guys,

I'm using a student version of inventor 2013, and i'm trying using the content center for add bolts at my project, but all the components are unable for my use, because everything are marked as read only.

How can i do for use these components?

and other question, how can i create account at vault?

Content Center libraries delivered with Inventor are read-only, and that cannot be changed.  Content Center components placed in your assembly are also read-only, but this is only because the default location where the files are placed is defined as read-only by your project.  If you move them to another folder, they are editable.  But normally you shouldn't need to do that.

Sam explained the CC question well.  As far as getting an account with vault, I would say you should talk to an administrator at your school about getting access to the vault.

How are you trying to place the components?
If you place as Custom they are taken out of the CC and placed local.

Why do you need Vault as a single user seat?

I have a desktop CC installation right out of the box for 2013 and I can't place a bolt or anything else from the CC.  All my folders are in order, but I always get the 'Query to the server failed' message.  I know the standard content center files are there, I can see them, the size, etc, and in the right folder (\programdata\Autodesk\Inventor 2013\Content Center\Libraries\) and I set the project path for content center to the same folder, and left the default \..\..\Content Center Files\R2013 as my application settings File tab setting.

I made sure I was NOT using Vault and that I was using desktop. Stumped in Georgia...

Go to your Application Options and on the Content Center Tab, change from Vault Server to Desktop Content.  That will stop the system from quering a Vault that really isn't there and look to your ProgramData directory instead.

@faisal10338

What type of content center is this?  Desktop or managed through your Vault?

Does this happen on any parts you place from Content Center or just certain ones?
