How to move a derived part

Hi all!

 

How do I move a derived part in the new Inventor 2015? It was very eas to move derived bodys in previous versions of Inventor.

 

Please help.

Thank u for the reply.

 

Previously the 'Move' button would be active to click on and move the new derived part. In the new 2015 version the 'Move' button is deactivated. Please see the images below.derived part.jpg

It looks like you are on the sketch tab with no active sketch.

To move the solid body 

Finish Sketch (if in sketch).

Click on the Move Body tool.

Attach your *.ipt file here if you can't figure it out.

Aah!

Brilliant! Thanks for that. I couldn't find the 'Move bodies' button because of the new layout of Inventor 2015.

For some reason they decided to hide half the tools.  Not sure why - there was plenty of screen real-estate.

I agree. It seems like a step backwards in that regard. There is plenty of space. It has been over-simplified in my opinion.

Another way (new to R2015) is Direct Edit. You can transform the body and manipulating geometry (rotate, extend/contract, and resize) within one command.
