Hi there,
In our work we draw many symmetrical outlines. In many cases, chiefly due to space constraint, we draw only half the outline and use a centerline of the symmetry to dimension the part.
Our current method is to use sketches to achieve this.
I wonder if there is a way that we can make this linetype available from the styles? Diagram attached below.
Many thanks.
Cheers,

Create a work axis in the model, then right click on the component in the drawing view browser and select Include Work Features; you then have a choice of what kinds of features to include. This will show your work axis as a centerline.
As sbixler said, in the sketch, you could draw a line to creat the center line.
To annotation in the drawing, you could use crop operation, then add a axis in hte crop operation view, and annotae in the symmetrical.
By the way, there is a limitation for the symmetrical symbol. You have to use sketch in the drawing to create it.
Thanks Sam. Sorry for not being clear about the problem.
Actually I am able to get the centerline of the part itself (using automoted centerline), but the problem is with the centerline, i.e. the symbol.
I am using sketch to annotate the symbol but to do it on thousands of drawing...
Many thanks!

Hi Yong Jing,
That's exactly what I'm currently doing. If the number of drawings is small I can live with it but what I really like to do is to have this enforced as part of the company-wide drafting standard so that all drawings will carry the same look.
Wish list?
Cheers

I have logged a wsihlist to the Dev team.
Before it has accepted, you could customized the symbol in the drawing template, then you could insert the customized symbol whenever you need.
