How to get inventor 5.3 running under windows xp ?
I have installed inventor 5.3 with operating system windows xp. Everything goes ok, but when I try to open inventor, the system completely crashes. He automatically reboots, and errors are found then on the disk. Which weren';t there before. Can anybody help me how I can solve this problem??
Uninstall R5.3 (consider also uninstalling Acad & MDT if installed)
Reboot and make sure the IV directory is deleted under Program Files/Autodesk.
Remove IV entries in your Windows registry. If you uninstalled all Autodesk products then you can delete all Autodesk registry entires.
Make sure XP is up-to-date with all patches.
What video card are you running? Make sure your video card driver is certified for R5.3. If you can't get a certified driver make sure you're running the latest driver for your video card.
Run Scandisk on your hard drive and then run the defrag utility.
