I don't have 2014 installed atm, but isn't it the same as previous version(s):
Inventor "I" -> Export -> CAD Format to bring up the export dialog box.
select SAT Files from "save as type" drop-down.
Click "options" to change the SAT version to 6.0
Hope that works - but you've not explained what you're having problems with, or if it's not working as previous releases, so not too sure where you're having issues...

In 2014 we don't have an option to change the format for SAT files that I can see.
At the present time you will need to Save As a version 7 SAT file from 2014 and then open the version 7 SAT file in 2012 and then do a Save As SAT version 6. It looks like release 2012 of Inventor was the last release that allowed you to save back to a previous version of SAT.
