In addition to the previous replies, attached is a quick approximation of your part that might help. Without knowing the intent of your design I can't say for sure that what I have is correct, but it might serve as an example for you to work through some issues that I foresee you running into.

The correct way. Any other solution without the rails will not give you the proper shape in this situation. If you loft without rails you will find your shape is really not smooth, but dips in or out.
For example, this loft looks smooth, but in reality is not.
Another acceptable solution, just depends on the final shape you need.
Here's the loft as a sheet metal part, which will give you the flat pattern.
Good tip Eric, forgot about the sheet metal loft which calculates the rails automatically, but wasnt for sure if he wanted a solid part or duct type part, so gave him the basics.
