How to create lip all round

I tried unsuccessfully to create a lip around a curve surface and there is no flat plane to select for the sketch.  Wonder if this could be done in Inventor.  My version is 2011.  Attached is the model which I need help.

- Thanks.

You have to better specify where do you want the lip. I was able to create a lip around the curved thickness face of solid you have provided, although it looks terrible and not like a lip - but this is because the lipped face is not perpendicular with its adjacent face.

Difficult to figure out what you are after.
Try this

Delete Sweep and Sketch 4.

Start a new 3D sketch and Include Geometry the entire sweep path.

Now Sweep.
Is that what you are after?

Thanks and that is exactly what I need.  Realised the software is so friendly when there is someone who guide you along.

In 2012 the 3D sketch is no longer required - you can now select the edges directly for the sweep path.
