Does anyone know how to place a center punch mark on a sheet metal part for weld stud locations in either a .ipt or .idw?

We use work points in the IPT's to create center punch marks for weld studs. But we do it like this........ After the IPT is created, then create your IDW. Upon placing your view, click over to options and show Work Features. This will put "SCRIBE" lines (work point crosses) on there. Be carefull though. If the part was done using sheetmetal mode, double check the location of those scribe lines. I have had numerous cases where scribe work points are on one flange and scribe work points are on another flange. When IV7sp1 goes to flatten it in the IDW, the locations of these points are not in the location i put them. I have even sent the IPT & IDW files to my VAR, who forwarded it to Autodesk. Guess what, no response back from either of them, and that was back in release 6.0.
Thank You

I did a quick search of our system and I couldn't anything logged against
this issue. You should contact your VAR and get the case number and the
status.

When my VAR gets back in, I will send the case number that you can track this by.

Go ahead and send me the files. I will check into it and send it development
if it is still an issue.

Please send me the case number when you get in touch with your VAR.

I apologize if our process broke down.

Thanks for sending me the files. It looks like this is a problem with
drawings rather than sheet metal. The flat pattern analyzer doesn't have any
way to deal with work features. When Work Feature was added as a drawing
view option in R6, they didn't disable it for flat patterns. In R8, that
option is grayed out when you place a flat pattern view.

In the past, I have used a centerpunch iFeature for this purpose. I placed
one in IVCF that basically places a small, shallow hole. It is small enough
that it isn't visible and it won't go through most sheet metal, but the
center mark tool in drawing manager will pick up the hole center.
