How to convert from 2D DWG to 3D CAD model?

Hello. I am new to Autodesk Inventor LT. I received a 2D CAD data file in DWG format from somebody. What is the simplest way to convert it into 3D CAD model? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just model it from scratch... Thats what I would do... I haven't seen a reliable way to go from 2d to 3d no matter what the marketing goons say.

There is a 2D to 3D tool availabe at Autodesk Labs: http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/2d_to_3d_tool/

But as previously stated, it's probably just as easy to model it from scratch in Inventor LT

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Thanks for all the replies. I need to learn how to build a 3D model from scratch then.

Is it possible to get the mass and center of mass position of an assembly with the 2D DWG alone?

Inventor LT is for single parts - not assemblies.

Garin must be a mind reader. The last two posts at his In the Machine blog discuss using 2D DWG in Inventor. It should give you some ideas.
