How to animate gears with motion constraint

Hi all

I have done the following "How-To Guide" at:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=3028036

I've completed the exercise adding the motion constraint to the two gears, it all works great when I drag one gear the other follows according to the constraint, but for the life of me I cant seem to get the constraint to work while animating the motion constraint in studio.
There are alot of options in the animate constraints dialog box which im sure I have tried all of them, it either dosnt work or comes up with a "invalid expression" fault
I was wandering if someone can point me in the right direction to accompish this simple step.

cheers

Add angle constraint and animate the angle constraint.

Thanks JD,

The angle constraint got it moving but just wandering why the motion constraint cant be used like this?

Could you describe how that would work?

Perhaps Inventor Dynamic Simulation - Imposed Motion is what you are after?

Motion constraint....

You apply the constraint to a pair of gears so when you drag one gear the other follows as we know,
it would be nice to be able to say in simple terms "animate that".

We know we can do this with other constraints ie. mate, insert, angle etc just seems odd you cant do it with motion constraint.

I'm thinking the motion constraint only links the two gears together so when the angle constraint is animated on one gear the other follows in sync.

Perhaps Dynamic Simulation can do it another way but unfortunalty the IV Suite I am using at work dosnt have that.

Hope that makes sense.
