How do I change the default save location?
It goes to my documents, but in options I can't find anything with that path.
I want it to go to a different folder but I can't figure out how to make it do that.
it defaults to the folder that you last saved in
Set the location you want in the frequently used folders setting in the project
It's true that it defaults to the last save location, but only within the same project. If you switch projects it defaults to the Workspace defined in that project.
However, My Documents is the Workspace for the Default project, so it sounds as if you need to learn something about Inventor projects (.ipj files) and learn to use them effectively.
Are you using Projects
or
are you using Vault?
"Set the location you want in the frequently used folders setting in the project"
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this command only show up at the "vault" level and not at the local drive (your computer).
Would love to have same capability to set my most used directories at the working level (my computer) as I am always working on more than one project at any given time. And needing to switch to one of them way to often durring the day.

Don't know about when using Vault, but the Frequently Used Folders work very nicely without Vault, both local and network files

Then use a Project or Projects.
THANKS, I t never regestered to me when I saw that option in projects. Now i feel reel stupid after all these years of looking at it and complaining that we didn't have the option.
