How can I split long Parts List in to two or more sheets in idw file?

Hi,

I'm working on Inventor 2010...

I've got a drawing file which is created from ipn file. But there are lots of parts in assambly! Because of this, Parts list is very long. And I want to split Parts List in to two or more sheets. For example 10 rows in each sheet...

In fact there is "wrap list" property. When I use it Parts List apart side by side not next page (sheet)...

Regards,

Mucip:)

I copy and paste my parts list to the next sheet. Then I hide the last rows on the parts list on the first sheet. Then I go to the second sheet and hide the first rows that I left visible on the first sheet. If you need more detail please ask.

Hope this helps, Paul

Dear Paul Doubet,

Thanks for your kind interest. Yes, yhis may be a solution but not lasting! What happend if I add or remove parts from Assembly? Everytime I must re-arrange parts list (renum, re-hide, re-unhide) re-copy and re-paste parts list in to two or more sheets. There is risk incase of doing all this mass again and again...

It's very hard to understand for me: There is wrap list left or right side... So why not "Next Page" ??

hi

u can use Filter Setting in part list editor and select Item Number Range on the Define Filter Item

then u should type a range for example 1-10 and another sets 11-20

then u can select each of them for any sheet

Dear Behzat Meskini,

Thanks a lot for your kind interest. Filtering rows is more functional than hide/unhinde rows... I tested it and works for me. I filtered like 1-50, 51-100, 101-150 etc...

But the main pint is: When you add or detete part from main assembly than you must renum the part list. Baloon numbers may change but this is no problem. You see the number 4 on baloon and you may find item 4 in parts list.

But ofcourse it's better to add functionality of "split next page by 50" command in inventor... I hope programmers can hear me now...

Hi,

Solution is good but when we got sub-assemlies we use "-" seperator. For example Item Number is 1 and if this burt has sub assebmly than it will be 1-1, 1-2... etc...

Well how can I give filter criteria now?!... Criteri works like "1,2,3," or "1-10"... Than it mix between seperartor and sub assemly seperator!  We can not filter Item number 1 and Item number "1-12"...?!

How can I solve this?

What I do is have a master parts list off to the side of the dwg that I use to do all my updates and control functions. Then I can easily just make the minor changes that are I the first and second sheet updates. As in all  part order in handled in my full master, split part list only sort by item number. This allows me still to see a full parts list when I'm working on it.

Hi there,

double click on your part list, then go on the number of the part where you want to split your part list, then right click and press : wrap table at row. There's an image linked below. Hope that helped !

Does this work with say, Table of Contents? Or rather Drawing list report?
