How can I measure distance between centers of balls?

I'm just playing with a rotor head of a model helicopter (see picture). For proper initial alignment, all main parts shall be setup parallel against one-another. This can be done by aligning the length of the ball linkages.

Smiley SadBut therefore I need to know the distance of the ball centers. How can I do that? (STEP file for testing with different Inventor versions is attached).

Thanks for hints

Walter

What if you put Workpoints at the centers of the spheres?

Hmm, Jeffrey. I'm having difficulties with this task, because I get no response of my selection.

Can you show your file?

Thanks

Next morning:

- Tried it in an assy with two single parts: Center points could be found

- Tried it in actual assy with many parts: No center points selectable

I've been using adaptivity instead. For constraining, center points are selectable. But not for measuring.

Hoping for the next release
