How can I create a flat belt?

Hello,

How can I create a flat belt driven system? The drive system and the flat belt are in the attachments of this message.

What I did until now was to create a part for the belt within the assembly (extrude part). The sketch is depending on the position of the rollers and everything else. Although when I create the belt I can no longer move the system. If I supress the belt, move the system and unsupress the belt, the belts assumes the new positions.

My purpose would be to be able to still get a variable assembly so I could also make a dynamic simulation of the system.

I would really be thankful for some guidance in this.

Best Regards

Hi.

You have to guarantee that the belt.ipt is Adaptive in the assembly.

Hi there CarlosC,

Sorry for the late answer.

I had it already as adaptive. The part is adapative and the sketch and plane too. I send to you a picture with it.

Still I can´t move the system. If I supress the belt, then I can move the system.

Unsupressing the belt again makes it go to the new position.

As you can see in the picture I have the belt part patterned. Although I also tried without the pattern and it didn´t work.

I send to you a picture of the belt and its sketch as well.

Thank you for the help

Best Regards

Can you zip and attach your part and assembly files here?

Hello Cameron Whetten,

I can only send you the part and a schematic to help the understanding of it.

Tell me if you need some other information.

Best Regards

There are plenty of online tutorials/videos on this.. Did you try searching..

Try first then see if we need to write it all out for you..

Try "Autodesk Inventor adaptive belt" or "Autodesk Inventor adaptive chain"
