Hole table on converted Solid Work File

What is the best way to get a hole table on a converted SW file.  Our Engineers use Solid works and I

can easily import the file but when I try to create the  hole table in the IDW file it comes up blank.

Do  I need to recreate all the holes so they are native to Inventor? or I am missing a conversion setting.

Thanks - Mike

You should not need to recreate the holes.

Download Feature Recognition add-in from here http://labs.autodesk.com

When you run FR on the part if you have Pattern Feature for the holes you will need to Right click (or something like that, I don't have FR on the machine I'm at) to recognize as a circular or rectangular pattern as appropriate.

If some of the holes need thread notes you will need to Edit Feature and change the hole type to appropriate threaded hole size.

Mike,

If this is an option and my memory serves me right, you can export the SW table out as an Excel table then reinsert that into your Inventor drawing.

I haven't loaded 2014 yet.  If it isn't native in 2014 looks like you will have to be on subscription to get it at some unannounced date in the future.  Ouch!

This explains why it hasn't been working for me lately... bummer! That add-in was extremely useful.
