Help with a Class Project

I was wondering if some one could help me with this one small thing I need to do for my class project. I am having a problem with cutting out on my boat the rudder. Since it goes across the whole boat and it is at an arc. There is a gap in the boat between the rudder and the boat it self. I have very basic knowledge and my teacher has not taught me a lot of the features. The file is attatched here you will see the gap I am talking about. Also I am using Inventor 2012 Student edition if this helps also.

Thanks for the help.

Your first sketch is not contrained properly and is reporting 56 dimensions required.  Bad, bad, bad.

I would suggest making the rudder as a separate part entirely using geometry shared from the hull's first sketch.  (Generate the part while in the assembly environment.)  This may very well be quite beyond you at this point.  Start with the basics and look up JD Mather's posts to find his tutorial files.  (They're on his signature, I believe.)
