Help entering expressions

I tried to change a dimension to an expression using the following
procedure:
1. Select sketch mode and clicked the select icon..
2. Right click in display area, select Dimension display> experssion. Which
changed dimensions to expressions.
3. Selected dimension and tried to change the dimension to "face". Then
tried changing the expression "d1=24.00" to"d1=face". Both time, I received
the message "This expression cannot be evaluated".
Your help please and thank you, Bob

Hi, Bob.

I'm not sure I understand what you are doing, but you can change the name of
d1 to "face" in the parameters dialog. You can then use the name in another
dimension when it's created or editted. If I'm not even close and someone
else doesn't give you an answer, maybe if you'll post a simple example in CF
someone will help.

Bob,

I'm not sure if I totally understand but are you trying to change the value
of the expression to face or the name of the parameter to face. If you try
the first then it will not work unless there is already a parameter called
face. To change the parameter name to face either rmb on the dimension and
click Dimension Properties then change "Name" to face or change it's name in
the parameters table.

Cheers,
