Helicoil Tap Info

Is there a way that I can add helicoil tap info to the thread size spreadsheet so that I can use the data within the hole command and place helicoil-tapped holes into my models? I need some way to automatically flow the helicoil tap info into the drawing via a hole note.

You should be able to create a worksheet in the threads.xls spreadsheet
(design data folder).
You'll need to know the sizing information, but I'm sure that's not a
problem.

Hello Bakerman,
please let me know if you want to use metric coarse or metric fine, Inch coarse or inch fine. So i can post the neccesary raw data (excel sheet) to build the thread size spread sheet in the thread.xls

Best regards

Matthias

We generally use inch coarse only.

M. Peppel-

I was wondring if you still have the helicoil files?  I was looking at getting both the inch coarse and the inch fine.

Thanks

Here's my thread xls. Copy the helicoil sheets to yours.

No guarantee on accuracy, if it's important double check it.

I have just found the .xls file with helicoils. I have copied it but I do not get correct information. When I select a hole from the pulldown inside Inventor (2013 BTW) it says it is a 1/4-20 Helicoil but when I add a hole note on the drawing it only refers to 1/4-20 thread - no helicoil note.

The metric file works as expected. Any idea as to why?

Thanks,

Seems to work for me, maybe your styles?

Hello Matthias,

Can you send me an Excel sheet with the metric helicoil coarse (if not asking to much: also the metric fine)

thanks

Stefan

@M.Peppel has not been active on the forum for more than a year, so may or may not see your request unless you ping him as I have done at the beginning of this sentence (just type the '@' symbol and you can find the user you wish to notify).
