I have a basic train that I am doing for a project at school. I am doing a faiirly advanced extension of this project for some extra credit and I am wishing to make this train be animated.
Since my first name is Jackson, I decided early on to make a track design in the shape of a J (bubble letter).
In my class, the only requirement was to make the train go in a straight line.
What I have now: I have two assemblies of both a train, and one of my track design.
My thoughts on how to do this:
I thought it would be possible to make the train follow a path or something to that effect.
Please help me, I desperately need the extra credit I would love anyone forever that could help me with this task.
Thank you in advance!
This is the track that I am using. I am wondering if I could simply animate my train on the path.
This is a picture of the tran that I wish to animate.
If anyone else needs anymore pictures in order to help me more effectively, please ask and I will provide them.
Can you attach the assembly here?
So this is the infamous train plus train track we've been hearing about for years on this forum!
Surprised JD jumped up to the plate to do your homework...
It is possible - you will need a dummy part for one continuous curve or use Dynamic Simulation.
I'll take a look when I get a chance and give you tips on how to get it done.
I took a quick look at the parts - most of them are correcly done.
I'll try to work up a document explaining how to do this animation with both Inventor Studio and with Dynamic Simulation (do you have Inventor Pro?).
