Glass density changed in Inventor 2013

In 2013, glass density is 2.18 g/cm^3. But in older versions, we had that as 2.56 g/cm^3 for many years. Google results range between 2.5 to 2.6 g/cm^3. Anyone can explain why 2013 has much lower value? Thanks.

Dear Jianbinlin,

The glass density available in the physical properties of the material in 2013 and 2014 seems to be effectively underestimated.

A change request is already opened and ongoing to verify and update the density with a more appropriate value.

For your information I have observed that the "Glass" densities available in the:

1) "Autodesk Material Library" of Inventor 2013 is 2.42 g/cm^3

2) "Inventor Material Library"" of Inventor 2013 is 2.18 g/cm^3.

3) In Inventor 2011, 2012 and 2014 the densities values are all 2.18 g/cm^3

You could duplicate or update the “glass” material present in the libraries and save it in a personal library (or in the Inventor Material Library if you have the access).

I hope that will help

Best Regards

Thanks for your reply.

Our Inventor was upgraded to 2013 from 2010 about a year. Library was migrated at that point. Didn't notice this issue until yesterday. I will update our customised library.
