The fastener library needs the specific name as
shown when installing.  But why use the library when it is so much easier
to use iPart hardware from

   After all you can
both change the length of a bolt and also change the size without
reconstraining.

Do you get any mention of " Fasteners" at all
under tools? If yes Make a library named "_Inventor Fastener Library V?" What it
says in fastener set up under tools/ If no it is not installed, this is a
separate install under 5.3. If you installed it look in programs/AutoDesk/ and
there should be a fastener folder, if its not there try repair program or
uninstall IV and reinstall.

Hi Laurence...Here is no mention of " Fasteners" at all under tools...and no matter what I seem to do I can't get that icon or menu to load. I haven't had a problem with it in the past today is just one of those day that nothing seem to be going right.

Have you tried reinstalling fasteners from 5.3 CD?
uninstall first, is this network?

check "Add-ins" under tools and make sure
"&Fasteners" is loaded on startup.  Also make sure there is a line in
you project file in the library search paths that is named: _Inventor Fastener
Library V1

I have reinstalled the fastener library and check "Add-ins" and the "&Fasteners" is loaded on startup. There is also a correct line in my projects file in the library search paths that is named: _Inventor Fastener Library V1. I load up IV and that still is not sign of the Libray under tools ... weird.
