I am trying to add some materials from a R9 style library to a R10 style library and get a "Failed to lock style library" message. I have migrated the R9 style thru the style library manager as required. I have even tried to create a empty library and move the file to there and still get the same error message.

Do you see it from Style Library Manger? or Inventor UI?
When you the same error with the default styles from extracted from DesignData.exe
(located under "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 10\Design Data")?
