Exporting from IV 7 to autocad 2004

Has anybody had experience with exporting IV 7 .iam files into autocad(2004). I would like to import the file, dropping the parameterics, so it is a dumb solid. I have tried to use a sat file, but cannot get it to work.

Cheers Reece.

IV does fine in exporting into 2d.  That is
what you are implying when you talk of iam to dwg.  I have not had much
success in getting the linetype and layers to export to the hoped for
senario.  But again it could just be me.

If you want a color dependent dwg, you have to
window the results and make layer- bylayer, color- bycolor, lineweight-
bylayer.  Purge the results and change the layer names to what you hoped
for.  Now paste this into one of your standard templates.

Did you anytime export a perspective view into ACAD? Try it and I guess
you will not repeat your statement.

What doesn't work when you export to SAT? I haven't had any troubles
going from Inventor to acad in the past, but it has been a while since I
have tried.

Perspective view export has never worked. I admit I have stayed away from
it. But again most fabrication shops are happy just they get a 3d view.
